BMobile won this round.

But just imagine the amount of money that Digicel is paying on marketing and they are yet to make money off consumers in Trini. Imagine how they would step up their game once they start production.

[rant]I'm hating on B-mobile...after years of shitty service as TSTT they're finally faced with some competition so they're trying to step their game up with what is essentially a facking horse and pony show...gimme a break.

These fackers even filed an injunction to try and keep Digicel out the Trini market...then lobbying the gov't behind the scenes to change the law so as to delay deregulation...trying to hold on to they're monopoly. Machel or no Machel B-mobile can kiss the narrow part of my ass...if what they did in Jamaica is any indication (blowing away Cable and Wireless) Digicel gonna make some noise [/rant]

In a country so advanced as Trinidad, I as quite suprised to learn that service cut out in certain parts as obviously there wasn't the tech in those areas to uphold the network.

Thank god for digicel, I find they are very good in barbados and their prices are reasonable, I'm not sure about that of Bmobile as I never got a cell while in trinidad.

Competition enhances consumer choice, so its a very good thing.

The controversy down there right now is that TSTT own all the Telecommunications infrastructure of the entire Island. Digicel had to go to TSTT to ask for permission to bounce signals off there towers. Orignally they agreed to this and Digicel was suppose to be online December of last year (they figured that they couldn't mess with what they already had in place). When TSTT found out what they were up against, they delayed the digicel launch for about six months (apparently screwing them for the '06 carnival season).

I agree with you man. This time last year TSTT sold so many cell phones, they didn't have the infrastructure to deal with all of there customers.

Digicel sponsered Tribe this year and they did a great job advertising wise while we were on the road..you should know Kev..Right now there are so any people in TNT with broken cell phones, no phone etc. who are waiting patiently for Digicel to step in...A projected 40 to 55% of Bmobile customers are expected to leave... ah cyar wait!!
