I disagree to a point. I have seen some (quite few) people pull it off. Those were nude very close to their skin colour though. Not purple or white or pink that other people does have in contrast to their costume.

I think it looks better than wearing cheap $1.99 pantyhose with runs and better than stockings that are not sheer to the waist.
