LIME Soca Monarch Quarter Finals
After preliminary judging and 4 days of Quaterfinals the Lime Soca Monarch competition now moves to the semifinal stage. The semifinals will take place on Friday July 24th at the Victoria Park in Grenville, St. Andrew. The semifinalists of the 2009 LIME Soca Monarch are: • Touch It • D Hammer • Zingo – former monarch • Soca Bantan – former road march winner • Mr. Razor • Lava Man • Maximillion • Croqueta • Mr. Killa – former monarch • Kage • 4 Brass • Randy Isaac – former monarch • Boogie B – former monarch and road march winner • Super Star • General PP – former road march winner • Brother B • Papa Jerry • Otis • Sheldon Douglas - former monarch and road march winner • Lakay • Terror Kid • Inspector – former monarch and road march winner • Gold Mindz • Shortpree & Trina • Junior Blood Fire • Myney – former road march winner • Soca Sterling • Boyzie • Pupa Lendie • Mr. Legs STAND BY – Mustic The list includes 6 former Soca Monarchs and 6 former road march winners. Additionally, over the weekend Artistes, Tallpree, Spontaneous and Luni Spark and Electrify all had launches, releasing new material for the 2009 Carnival season. The 2009 Carnival season is now at full throttle and the Grenada Cultural Foundation and the Grenada Carnival Committee reminds all to be safe and to have an enjoyable 2009 Carnival season. The Grenada Cultural Foundation and The Grenada Carnival Committee would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Kirani James on his outstanding performances over the weekend at the World Junior Games. This outstanding citizen of Grenada continues to fly the flag of our wonderful island with immense pride propelled by his God-given talents and a determination to be his best at all times.
