The 2 days of carnival are acutally on 26 / 27 of August, if you come on the friday, you will get to see Machel in concert (if they bringing him) then fete on sat, Jouvet sunday morning, carnival on saunday and monday then go home tuesday.

you can fly in via any london airport (Gatwick, Heathrow, Stanstead) and you should aim to stay around west london. So there is a Hilton by Paddington station, there's a Mariott in Kilburn (near me), kensington (thats quite near and easy to get to.
