Trini costumes are three times more expensive than U.S. costumes, which is one of the reasons why the quality is so much better. I doubt people would be willing to pay $400 to play mas in Miami, Atlanta, DC, or Boston. Maybe in NY you could find some, but the number of masqueraders would at least be cut in half.

Yup, people does start bawling if a costume in NY is over $200. And I don't blame them, remember is 6 hours vs 2 days. Yet that is usually the production/material cost of one costume for Trinidad band. So it is almost impossible to get the same quality.

If they did, it would be 6 masquerader per band, cus most dont wanna pay so much to play mas in the states and most people who play abroad dont even bother.
