The year: 1999
Date: Carnival Tuesday Location: Stage Entrance, Savannah in POS, 8am. Mas Band: Trini Revellers First time playing mas in Trinidad or anywhere for that matter. Blazing sun, multiple music trucks blaring soca, Trini Revellers, Harts and Minshalls mas bands jockeying for position to cross stage, beautiful women in skimpy costumes banging down shots of rum and getting on bad...the excitment and energy at a fever pitch, wow, that was really a moment to never be forgotten or repeated for that matter...Doesnt get any better then that! |

2006....In my breathtaking PRIDE costume, arms locked on both sides with fellow masqueraders, swaying left and right to Band of The Year right before we cross the stage...damn I miss that stage

Insomnia 2K7 on the hill by the water hose looking down on the crowd, cannot remember who was on stage (alcohol fried my brain) but the entire crowd in front of the stage was moving side in unison. Sweet….

Carnival 1999 when my ex gave me that now infamous ultimatum:
Change your flight and leave with me on carnival Tues to go back to NY, and if I didn't, when I come back to get my things! As you all might know by now I didn't! The sweet part came when she called me on Ash Wednesday night when I reach back from Manzanilla to say she rethought her previous position and would like to discuss the matter when I come home! HA! Im in Trini with all these beautiful ladies! I'll be coming for my things in about a week. Hearing her contrite voice crying for forgiveness after she try mannas me! Priceless!

NYC Labor Day 1996 - Nothing worth remembering. TT Carnival 1997 - A Vincy gal from Arima give me a whine to Big Truck that left me floored. Caribana 1998 - Jumping up in de rain with my cousins at their 1st Caribana. Brazil 2003 - Laying in bed Carnival Saturday night with a morena hottie that spoke zero English. Brazil 2005 - Carnival Tuesday night, Carlinhos Brown mashing up de place. |
