Here is MY Situation

Locked down costume

Locked down accomodations

Locked down very great plane fare.

but.......

I just got a job offer from a company i've been interviewing for, for the past 2 months.....

what to do? should i just suck salt and don't go?

should I tell them upfront and see if they can accomodate my trip. and make them all kinds of promises to make up the time?

what to do what to do what to do

Well, I say take the job offer first, then explain the situation (already purchased a vacation package, etc). See what they say about giving you the time off (with pay)... if not, and you can afford it, offer to take the time without pay.

I know several people (including myself) who faced similar situations, and they worked out well this way. I find many companies (especially larger ones) to be accommodating if you're honest from the get go.

This is what i am banking on. They are a large company so hopefully i can work it out. But jeez you want to talk about timing. This is what happens when a company keeps you on pins and needles before they hire you. I tried my best to wait them out. BUT I AM SO HAPPY TO GET THE OFFER.

next topic will be how to resign from my present employer.

Tell them about the trip upfront.

Most times as long as you tell them upfront and show them your ticket, they'll let you go.
