Not all the hotels are booked however many are asking for final payment by December. Have you tried Hilton?

Its been my experience that the major hotels are not fully booked until December at the earliest.
When you try to book a room at any of these hotels on the internet for the carnival dates of Feb. 24th to March 1st they all say: "No Rooms Available." Thats because most/all have a special 5 night Carnival Package that they are selling for those dates at extremely high rates over normal, like double or triple. I just checked the Crowne Plaza by email directly to the hotel, and got a reply back from the manager, so they must have rooms available, and at the following rates you will understand why they still have rooms:. 5 night Minimum stay, Feb 24th thru checkout on March 1st: Breakfast free Single...US$1736 for 5 nites includes the 20% taxes Double...US$1912 for 5 nites includes the 20% taxes Before or after the carnival package: Single...US$206/nite includes tax Double...US$236/nite includes tax These rates appear to be over 25% higher then a year or two ago and have priced me out of the picture(I have stayed there 3 times for carnival) And to make matter worse, a NON-REFUNDABLE 25% deposit is reqd at booking and the full non-refundable balance is due Jan 31st. So, you had better buy trip interuption insurance or you could be out big bucks if you got sick or whatever. Another added expense unless you want to gamble. I think your best bet is the Courtyard Marriott Port of Spain. Its a new hotel, good location, call them directly to get the their 5 day carnival rate and to book. I think last year people paid something like US$225/night average. Thats where I would stay if I was going. Not fond of the Hilton or Kapok, both kinda run down and the prices will be close to the Crowne Plaza. You have to contact the hotels directly by phone or email for rates and to book. Hope this helps, good luck, John |

If you want to stay at a guest house which are cheaper check out this link http://www.visittnt.com/accommodations.asp These guest houses have been inspected by the tourist board and are good value for money. |

There's a couple of places that some friends of mine stayed at in St James/Woodbrook some years a back and one in belmont near the savannah. I will have to ask them if they have the information and get back to you. I will send a pm as soon as I find out. |
