Salvador's Carnaval has became the most popular festival in Brazil, surpassing the one in Rio. The six-day-long street party attracts an estimated 2 million people. More than 160 groups parade on different locations and everyone is welcome to join in.
Canalero - In Brazil the "Mas" is called Blocos. I was part of Timbalada and Olodum. The most fun I ever had in my life! It is imposssible to desribe Brazil.

Block of trio established in November of 1994, the Timbalada estreou in the 1995 carnival and was known for attracting some celebrities, between artists and intellectuals, as Carlinhos the Browns, Marisa Mount, Caetano Veloso and Toni Garrido, who already had given "canjas" in the parades.
The block already conquered three consecutive times (1995, 1996 and 1997) the Trophy Folia Bahia as better alternative block.

The Olodum drags 4 a thousand people for the streets of Salvador Created in the Pillory, for inhabitants of the region, the Olodum estreou in the carnival of Salvador in 1979, with the subject Party for Nego de Ovo.Afro of Brazil, known for promoting on social actions to the education is one of the most important blocks. In 2005, the Olodum goes follows the following subjects in its parade: Akhenaton & Nefertiti, the Solar Couple, the African Monoteísmo, Egypt and História of the Humanity.
The block goes to parade in the three main carnavalescos circuits of the bahian capital. The parade of the adult Olodum and mirim congregates 4 a thousand people in each faction
