The High cost of ALL-INCLUSIVE FETEING - goes higher By CECILY ASSON ALL-INCLUSIVE fete lovers are bawling like hell for C2K6! They told Sunday Punch they’re now facing the blues with the steep increase in the price of tickets to attend some of TnT’s biggest and most popular All-Inclusive fetes. So far star batsman Brian Lara’s popular All-Inclusive fete held annually at his Chancellor Hill, Port of Spain mansion, is reportedly way out front when it comes to high pricing this Carnival. Reports reaching Sunday PUNCH have revealed that Lara’s fete now costs a whopping $1,200, while another all-time favourite, hosted by Poison’s Michael Headley at Salibay, Toco has a price tag of $1,000. CAREC is costing $650 and Amnesia $475. The price of other All-Inclusive fetes is said to have also increased drastically. “This is madness,” said one party hound who openly expressed her disgust at the high prices. The banker, who spoke to Sunday PUNCH admitted, “for several reasons” her choice of parties over the last few years, have been exclusively All-Inclusive despite their high prices. Poison’s MICHAEL HEADLEY. Star batsman BRIAN LARA. “I always go to Lara’s fete, because it’s good. Headley’s fete is boss, and just like the rest of the All- Inclusives, they are safe, the drinks are premium and the food is good.” She, however, moaned: “But it’s just costing too much this year.” She further stated that she is among many who are blanking the All-Inclusive fetes. “My husband and I won’t attend, it’s just costing too much and it’s ridiculous. “We could never eat or drink that money and worse yet, we are vegetarians.” She told Sunday PUNCH the steep price increase has been blamed on the frightening crime situation. “But I don’t buy that … “We’re being taken advantage of.” She said she knew of some colleagues and other friends and relatives among many who still plan to attend the All-Inclusive fetes. “People will be there, but I won’t. I’m not prepared to spend that kind of money to ‘fete’ this year. “While people will be attending, there are many regular faces that won’t be seen.” |

Unfortunately I think it's because of us "tourist" that the prices of costumes, fetes, accomodations, etc keep going up. When these promoters and mas producers see that tourist talking up these fetes, bands, carnival in general, etc like we do in places like Carnival Central one is inclined to believe that we will pay anything to be in the most elite, all inclusive, fetes, band, etc. Year after year people are talking up Lara's fete and more and more "tourist" put that on their must do list. So in Lara's eyes and most of these promoters, why not milk de cow for all it's worth. You're getting the same food, same drinks, same music, same security. There's just no reason to milk people like this. When people start turning their backs on them, then they will feel the pinch.
