Wink Borokeete International members save your costumes because we going to Maimi Carnival

If you still have your costume and you plan on going to Miami carnival you can contact your section leader directly or the Borokeete Mas camp for additional registration information. All Borokeete members who played with us this year in our Beauty of the Dark Continent presentation for the NY Labor Day carnival parade are invited to participate. Borokeete members you now get to wear your Labor Day carnival costume's twice. However, you will be required to pay the new band fee as the entire band was invited to participate in Miami carnival...

Hey JT.. Thanks mama. I know you know that yuh have to have a real unconditional love for our Carnival culture when doing it in the US. But yeah we decided to support Miami carnival this year and with the economy being as bad as it is presently. Some people are really not going to have the opportunity to make it home to the caribbean for carnival.

BTW congrats as well and good job doing your thing as well on the parkway for labor day.

That's great that you are trying to get her to learn and also be connected with her Caribbean heritage/background. My buttercup is only 5 but she is a natural mas lover. She loves to work very close with me designing, gluing and playing with the beads/feathers. So in her school I teach a mas making workshop and the kids all have a blast making the costumes.

Hey Mr Brazlian DerMonger...lol Thanks! Did you come down to NY for Labor day? I'm going to be hosting one of your type of carnivals soon. So I'll send you a personal invite to that one because I know you'll like this one.

My neice's mom in as American, too. I want the little girl to play mas next year but I don't know how to describe it to her Mom. She is from down South (in the country) and has never seen a West Indian carnival.

No I iz a Guyanese to de bone,lol....... but ah love dey carnaval. I did not make Labor Day, hopefully next year, I haven't been in a dozen years since attending my only one.

Make sure you take a jump for us not attending Miami and take some pics if possible. I would like to go there, that's the only MAJOR N.American W.I Carnival I haven't been to. Only problem is it'd interrupt my winter plans.

Thanks for yuh invite, I dunno if you'd want me attending, dey party style a lil too rowdy for de average W.Indian where I go,lol.
