Back in Time to 1982

Back in Time to 1982 to Carnival Tuesday when Peter Minshall's "Papillon" hit the Victoria Stage in all its glory. Came second in the Band of the Year, Lil Harts "Anthony & Cleopatra" came first. Never will I forget the sight of Papillon coming down the road. It was even more spectacular when they assembled on the Savannah greens awaiting to go on stage. Like giant butterflies and catapillers covering the grass.

Thumbs up

What a BEAUTIFUL sight. He (Minshall) was a true story teller through the art of mas making. And let's not forget Mr. Wayne Barkley.

Cannot forget Wayne either (he has not lost his style) and a host of others, Minshall he was instrumental in taking our mas further to an even higher artform. Here's the King of Carnival for 1982, "The Sacred and The Profane" played by Peter Samuel.

Oh gosh I remember this year quite well now that's what I call a butterfly. My aunt also played that year with Peter and we were up in the grand stands watching them as they enter the savannah. Everybody was so excited once we saw them coming in.
