What the hell happend to the old time shit? What happend to men like Growling Tiger and Roaring Lion? Has everyone gone soft?

Really, if it weren't for the Asylum Crew, Kernal Roberts, Benjai, Maxiums and 3Suns, I swear the whole soca scene would be nothing but suckups with NOTHING TO SAY. (the above list is not a complete list of soca artists who say something, just a few examples)

Since when did everyone go hollywood on us? I think it's time to make a change and start being just a little more real in soca, give soca music some GUTS again.

We have forgotten our tradition entirely or what? We come from pan men who would FIGHT for their rights to play pan, Calypsonians who would SPEAK OUT against things they thought were wrong.

This generation seems a bunch of post boom saps who just want to have their egos stroked and be popular at the expense of intergerty.

I KINDA AGREE WITH YOU BUT IM CONFUSED WITH YOUR LINEUP OF "SOCA" artist with guts? THOSE GUYS YOU MENTION ARE MORE REGGAE THAN SOCA HONESTLY.......WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MAXIMUS. i DONT KNOW IF ONLY TRINI MUSIC YOU LISTEN TOO BUT ST.KITTS HAVE SOME REAL GUTS .....ALSO DOMINICA! Try listening to guys like Small Axe Band, WCK, First Seranade, these bands/artist dont get much airplay here as you know for bias reasons.............but you should look into other islands music ....especialy leeward islands.....there music are very blunt and gutful
