Shooting spree!
IS VEX AH VEX!
I just found out that a friend of mine, was caught in the Gun Fire in Brooklyn of Monday night, she is now paralyzed from the waist down, juss for being in the wrong place at the wrong time... Shooting spree 2 dead, 8 injured in 4-hour spate in Brooklyn BY PETER KADUSHIN, XANA O'NEILL and TINA MOORE DAILY NEWS WRITERS Wednesday, August 1st 2007, 4:00 AM A Brooklyn mother of two was paralyzed by stray bullets fired wildly down a Bushwick street, police sources and her loved ones said yesterday. Maxine Manson ducked, but the 33-year-old couldn't avoid the barrage of bullets late Monday at E. 21st St. and Dorchester Road. The tragic shooting at 10:20 p.m. began a spate of violence in Brooklyn that ended four hours later with 10 people shot - two fatally, police said. The string of unrelated shootings was unusual in a city where an average of about five people a day have been shot this year, police data show. Manson was trying to hail a cab when she was wounded in the head, buttocks and back. Her friend Eva Reid was grazed by a bullet but escaped serious injury, relatives said. Friends who visited Manson at Kings County Hospital said she was paralyzed from at least the waist down. In her hospital room, Manson told the Daily News she's terrified the gunman will try to silence her. "I don't want any problems," she said. "We still don't know who did this." The intended target of the gunman who shot Manson was Robert Dixon, 32, who had a criminal record for marijuana possession and assault. Several bullets hit Dixon in the head, buttocks and back - killing him. "These knuckleheads get into a beef and this woman's life is ruined because of it," a police source said. Manson's sister Mimi, 36, said Manson works as a hair stylist in Manhattan and has two young daughters. "We just hope they catch whoever did this," the sister said. About two hours after Manson was shot, Joseph Campagnolia, 27, was wounded in the leg at Bushwick Ave. and De Sales Place. At 12:30 a.m., a 16-year-old boy was shot in the back as he rode his bike near his E. 91st St. home in Brownsville. Kenroy Alexander was taken to Brookdale University Hospital, where he was in stable condition. His mother, Joyce Alexander, found her son bleeding on the ground outside their home. "He was just laying on the ground vomiting," said Alexander, 42, a mother of six. Two other people were shot a short walk away at E. 91st and Clarkson Ave. about the same time, police said. Ijah Byrd, 28, was wounded in the arm and Justee Joachim, 44, was shot in the hand. Both were taken to Kings County Hospital, where they were in stable condition. Byrd's grandmother Mary Byrd, 75, said her grandson told her it was "like a drive-by." "They said people just came by shooting in a car," she said. At 1:30 a.m., Mark Mclean, 33, was shot dead and Jermaine Duncan, 25, was wounded on Franklin Ave. in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police said. The 10th shooting victim, John Roberts, 56, was wounded in the buttocks about 2:30 a.m. on Bedford Ave., police said. No arrests were made in any of the shootings. Cops asked anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. |

It really is sad... This coming Thursday, August 2nd, she was supposed to be going to Trinidad to visit with Family & Friends, this was to be a special vacation for her, as it would be her first time back home in 12 years..

Many thanks! I actually got to see her yesterday, even in her condition, her spirits were very high, they were better that mines... When I first got to the hospital, I was in a hott mess, she told me that I should not cry, that I had to be strong for her... It was really hard seeing her like that, but there is a God above & I believe that she will walk again...
