This has got to stop or we'll end up like the black yankees!!!
I refuse to support anything Korean, plain and simple. They have made so much money off of Black American why wouldn't they try to do it with us? They feel we are stupid and are laughing all the way to bank. Did you know that they advertise in Korea about selling to blacks and how they can become rich? In DC there is Apple grocery store (owned by Koreans) and the Caribbean Market (owned by Guyanese), guess which one ah support?

Yes, Langley Park/Takoma Park. There are a lot of little groceries but the one on New Hampshire is the largest I've seen selling more products from home.

About all of CM's employees are now "Spanish." There was a cute Madras girl from GT dat used to wuk there, but then she disappeared. Well, dat's maximizing profit by hiring low wage Spanish labour. I've also seen some Koreans doing inventory in the store, on several occasions, so dey might have a stake in the business.

A friend of mine whose parents moved here from Korea explained some of
the strategies that are utilized to help them successfully operate retail
businesses. One is called a "key", this is the English pronunciation of
the word, not the exact term. Basically it is a form of cooperative
economics. A group of business people will agree to put in X number
of dollars per month into the "key". Every so often it will be your time to
draw from the "key" to expand your business or open a new business.
The members provide one another with guidance to ensure the success
of new ventures because they want to make sure that you will continue
to make monthly contributions.

Another approach that they take is to consolidate orders to get better
pricing and economies of scale. Imagine 8 corner grocery stores in a given
urban neighborhood. One will order all of the grocery inventory for all 8
stores. Another will order all of the softdrinks. Another will order all of
the chips & snacks. Another might order all of the haircare products.
Each of the businesses has a relationship with one major supplier and
then they redistribute items among themselves. The result is that they
take full advantage of quantity discounts that none of them would qualify
for individually.

Rather than viewing themselves as being in competition with one another
they recognize the benefits of working together.

You know what bothers me the most about this....this concept isn't new, some black folks are just greedy is all.

My fam told me that as they were growing up in St. Kitts, when times were hard, they had a "key" concept of everyone in th village donating a certain amount to a pot and at the end of the month, the pot goes to one family. They go how it helped a lot of people make it and people didn't hesitate to donate because they knew they would one day be rewarded too.

Community initiatives can only work when everyone in the community is about the same goal to help each other. All I gotta do is look at how we talk to one another, treat one another and cheat one another nowadays to see why other communities are getting over while, among blacks, only certain individuals are.
