Okay so I am a music head.. Juss in case anyone didnt know. However I was pondering to myself the other day that soca has really come along way. The music is hip, up to date, and seemingly more producers are coming together and lining up riddims where artists can platorm their talent unlike before where everyone was pretty much doing their own thing..
Now do you think that if this current trend continues it will help in the commercializing of soca to the masses.. Similar to what the Diwali did for reggae?!?
Do you see such productions as a negative because it will take away from the bandpower that makes soca pretty much an entertaining event on its own right?!?
*Small example: You will see more DJ's and big soundsystems rolling down Carnival roads (using nYc as a reference) more than actual bands playing..*
Okay I gone!!
