any how some points you made is on point..
For you to say to me what i do and dont know is funny cos as you donr know me only of what i have shared or expressed here within the years of IMIX correct?
Lets get it straight i DO know the differences between the subheadings of GROOVY/RAGGA/POWER soca. Lets not forget those who have loved the days of Calypso will try to stem to the the so-called love of GROOVY/RAGGA soca and why would dat be???
Now you brought that example about Biggie Irie and yes trinis made a category clarifying what BPM's were accepted during the competion only to make it clearer to the judges, fans and everyone who was gonna be apart of the spectacle. In Barbados for Crop Over last year saw a new system they now call "SOCA ROYALE" in which your old statement about Ragga Soca is now called "GROOVY SOCA". Their arent the only other islands who have used this system as it were for competitions such as the USVI.
If the Jamaicans were as consistent as the rest of the Caribbean in making SOCA MUSIC then wouldnt they be the original kings of RAGGA SOCA ?? As they were the originators of RAGGA no??
ps: There is nothing wrong with change but i just feel less ppls use the term RAGGA in general just like you hear less trumpet in we music?
Im sure you will come and make ah comeback on this one but thats my current view.

SMH
how could JAMAICA be the ORIGINAL KINGS of RAGGA SOCA?
You have to SHOW that they STARTED RAGGA SOCA and you have to show CONTINUITY in this VAIN.
Do you have EVIDENCE in this REGARD?
That said; you're REFERRING to a SYSTEM DEALING with a COMPETITION, thus PROVING EXACTLY what I have been SAYING. And that is, GROOVY is just a SOCA MONARCH COMPETITION; therefore has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with a GENRE of MUSIC.
When I REFER to "GROOVY SOCA," it will be in REFERENCE to EXACTLY what it is, A SOCA MONARCH COMPETITION in Trinidad and Tobago or in any other place this COMPETITION is HELD.
When I SPEAK of the GENRE that MOST of the SONGS COMPETING in this COMPETITION come from, RAGGA SOCA is what I will REFERENCED.
YUHHHHHHHHH SEEEEEEEEE MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEee
