I have been involved in the Labor day festivals since the age of 6 the Pan Section and have been behind the scenes attending meetings with OfFicials, Police etc.

People are quick to blame Wiadca but what they fail to realize is that lot of the blame and responsibities falls on the individual Bands involved in the celebration. The Police did there Jobs......As far as stormers etc it was the responsibity of the Band for example.....ummmm Genises (just picking names out of a hat) They are responsible for hiring SECURITY tooo keep the asses out. NOT WIADCA.
For people who dont.... know each band has to pay separate for insurance in order to touch the parkway.

The big gaps in the parade was NOt the fault of Wiadca....the fault was on the INdividual Bands...... they took there time getting on the Parkway....

As far as steelbands...alot of us OPt not too go cause its not worth it....with the DJ drowning us out....

I have more to add and will be back....
Good point, but when the gap becomes an issue with the entire parade, it may not be the fault or WIADCA and that point and time, but it would be a strategic move for them to work on eliminating that for the following year, set some boundaries an limits. If the band isn't reasonable in terms of their timing, and its affecting the parade, then there should be some consequence. Its understandable that they're not responsible for everything that goes badly on the parkway, but there is a lot that they are responsible for, ie improvement from year to year, which constantly escapes them.

I wish dem luck
