I'm not surprised either but keep in mind that our whole psyche is different from say black americans. As immigrants and as people who have come from black led societies we do not have the baggage that African Americans have.
When immigrants of any kind leave their native land, they arive at their destination motivated. Many come with a plan and a strategy to attain a goal. Many of us didn't have to deal with the trauma of being brought up in a society as a second class citizen. We don't grow up with a constant reminder that we still live in the midst of people and for the most part governed by people who brutalized us for the last four hundreds years. The people who are in charge usually looked like us. These are significant differences and before we open our mouths to boast about how well we are doing it would be smart to ponder these differences for a second first.
