Common sense says this would be a great thing if it could be successful. The other side of this though is that so many african territories that have become counties can't get it together and one of the reasons why is that the ppl that live there were never meant to be united under one gov't. These are separate clans and ethnic groups that were fine when they had their smaller tribal systems of gov'ts and now because of the way outside forces decided to divide up africa, they're struggling to be united and in so many cases its not working. What works for the EU and USA may not work for them and its sad that if they want any future for their nations, they don't really have any choice but to try and make it work.
