Yes and no. Nubia is a flawed term and Ausar and Djehuti are right on that. But at the same time to claim there wasn't an area south of Egypt that was not Egypt and where a parallel civilization did not occur would be false too. From the A-Group to Meroe, etc. there was a culture there and it was not Egyptian. They did share many things in common and Upper Egypt and the area we call Nubia had people that looked the same. The problem is assuming that Egypt just had one look considering the region it was in.
