Basically they examined Bush as a religious person and his role as the world's most powerful leader. In his speeches, comments are made such as America is the ideal country and want to spread its freedom throughout the world and the world should model after us. References of America being a divine country and he's a divine leader. In his autobiography he mentions that he was called by God to lead this country. I don't remember the exact verses cited from the bible but there were a few that were relevent.
Here is a brief description of the show
The three great monotheistic faiths, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, can all be traced back to the prophet Abraham. Yet despite the common ancestor and shared beginnings, his descendants have scattered and hardened into separate camps at odds with each other. In fact today, in our post-9/11 world, entrenched religious belief is regarded as a key factor in the worldwide clash of civilizations.
THE CHILDREN OF ABRAHAM goes on a journey of discovery to understand the shared origins of the three faiths, and then takes a very contemporary look at where we are today with our faith-based views. We travel to Jerusalem, Egypt, Turkey, Bosnia and the US and ask the big questions: Why, if there is one God, are there three different monotheistic faiths? Why do some people use religion to grab power and demonize their enemies, while others try to build bridges to them? And is there hope for a shared future? This is a fascinating and thought-provoking journey of discovery, so very relevant to our lives today.
Nothing really new since Imixers debate this daily. Why can't we all just get along???
